Geek For Hire, Inc. thinks it is very important to regularly back up your data.  Depending on your preferences, you might back up to a DVD, an external hard drive or off-site.  There are many good companies who provide off-site storage of your data.  What makes a backup service good?

1. Your data is encrypted

2. Your data is stored at more than one facility with government level high-security

3. The company has a super-fast connection to the internet

4. After an initial back-up, the company only backs up your new and changed data.

5. You can back up your data on a pre-arranged schedule.

We like Mozy the best, not only because it fits these criteria, but also because it is soooo easy to use.  One customer used Mozy when her hard drive crashed.  All the data was backed up and just needed to be uploaded to the new hard drive.  Another customer used it when she got a new computer.  Other customers back up their data to Mozy, and have never had to use it, but feel safe knowing it's there.  We like it because it is inexpensive enough to use to keep all of your pictures and music safe, but can also be used by businesses to make sure all their sensitive data is secure.
